Our School Trip to the Water Scheme

On the 3rd of November 2010, classes from 2nd to 6th and two teachers went by bus to visit the source of the Clareen Water Scheme. The bus was not able to drive all the way up so we met Mr. and Mrs. Jackie Ryan and we all headed up by foot.
It was great being out in the fresh air and we all enjoyed the walk. We talked about how the water travels to our homes and we took some pictures while we were there.

One the way back to the school we made two stops. At the first stop we went to the chlorine house. Jackie Ryan talked to us about how good it is to have chlorine in our water. The chlorine keeps our water safe to drink. He has to check the chlorine every day.
At our next stop we went to the reservoir. There were two reservoirs, an old one and a new one. The new one had to be cleaned out a few days before our visit.

Then we walked back to the bus. We got back to the school and carried on with our day.
