The Ballad of Fr. Peter
This tribute to Fr. Muldowney was put together by the pupils of 4th, 5th & 6th classes
The Ballad of Father Peter
Father Peter is this man's name
Its' been over three years since to Clareen, he came
So Father, to say thank you for all that you do
We've written a special ballad just for you.
We think that Fr. Peter is an awesome priest
On special occasions he organises a feast
He's very kind and he helps the poor
It's too bad that we won't see him as much anymore.
Fr. Muldowney goes on lots of trips
And when he comes home he gives us gifts
Like the fudge from Newfoundland that was so yummy
It felt like there was a party in our tummies.
Fr. Peter is always happy
He gets things done very snappy
Like our school and the footpath lights
He makes our futures very bright.
Fr. Muldowney is such a cool dude
On the BBQ he makes lovely food
Every day he has a smile
Even on the day that he ran a mile.
Fr. Peter tells us stories that are gas
He even lets us bring our pets to mass
He includes people in everything
And we really like his holy ring!
He always prays to the holy man
And he shouts for the Kilkenny clan
He gives people in Kilimanjaro lots of hope
In fact, we think Fr. Peter should be the next pope!
Speaking of Kilkenny, they won the All Ireland for four years
Fr. Peter had no reason to shed any tears
In fact, we've never seen Fr. Peter down
Except this year when Tipp won the crown!
Fr. Peter has made lots of friends in Clareen
The fruits of his work here can clearly be seen
When we see Fr. Peter it always reminds us
That we too should live our lives like Jesus.
Fr Peter is so great
Happy and holy with lots of faith
He's kind and generous, he gives us sweets after mass
Let's all face it, Fr. Peter is class.
On Christmas Eve he got us Santa!
At Easter he organised the hunt!
Fr. Muldowney is so good to us
Every day of every month
We hope you know that we would love you to stay
But we know that you must be on your way
With all of our hearts we wish you the best
So from all of us Father, goodbye and God bless.
